Project summary:
The project "Ties4Growth: Deepening Cooperation" connects the Municipality of Miren-Kostanjevica in Slovenia and the Municipality of Kralupy nad Vltavou in the Czech Republic.
The cooperation between the two municipalities is based on historical events from World War I, and the existing ties will be further strengthened through this project.
The project "Ties4Growth: Deepening Cooperation" contributes to the priorities of the program by promoting solidarity and the exchange of knowledge between municipalities from two EU member states, enhancing the sense of belonging among EU citizens, and fostering European values. The main objectives include strengthening cooperation between municipalities, encouraging the exchange of best practices, and addressing specific local needs.
The Municipality of Miren-Kostanjevica will gain experience in managing the Vltava River from the Municipality of Kralupy, which can be applied to the management of the Vipava River while preserving the environment.
The Municipality of Kralupy nad Vltavou will gain experience from the Municipality of Miren-Kostanjevica in the field of elderly care. Municipal representatives will primarily become familiar with the organization of so-called day centres for the elderly, or the House of Good Will.
The project includes two three-day events at the location, which will feature workshops, presentations, exchanges, spreading of best practices, visits, cultural, and sports activities.
The target groups are the residents of both municipalities, with a special focus on representatives of local authorities, elderly individuals and their families, service providers on the Vipava River, employees and volunteers from municipal organizations, and associations.
Expected results include the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the areas of river navigation and services for the elderly, identification of new areas for future best practice exchanges, and the expansion of the cooperation network.
As part of the project, two reports on the events carried out will be prepared, along with a document for further use. By addressing local needs, exchanging best practices, and promoting cross-border cooperation, our project will contribute to improving the well-being and quality of life of citizens, supporting the program's goals, and strengthening the values and priorities of the European Union.
